Short Itinerary Through The Exchange Building

The Exchange building of 1932 was the work of the architect Paolo Mezzanotte. Before it was built, trading took place on various sites in the centre of Milan. Since it was first built, the Palazzo has been refurbished several times in order to meet the needs of the markets.

Its artistic and functional features of value are to be found to the original plan in which the wall decorations, the forniture and refurnishings were all designed as part of a whole.

In order to restore and preserve the historical remains found on the site and to give visitors the oppurtunity to view them, we have set up a permanent exhibition in the basement area (Underground) of the building, which consists of a short itinerary of historical texts and photographs illustrating the history of the building
